Hi, and welcome to The Friendly Flour (formerly LPHJ Kitchen)!
I started this blog as a way to share gluten-free and allergy-friendly resources with the growing number of people who, like me, are navigating life with dietary restrictions. After being diagnosed with multiple autoimmune conditions, including Celiac Disease, I had to completely rethink the way I ate, cooked, and lived.
As someone who has always loved cooking—especially baking—this was a big shift. But rather than let it hold me back, I decided to dive in. I began recreating my favorite recipes from childhood—comfort foods and family favorites—using ingredients that are safe for those of us with food allergies or intolerances. It became my mission to make food that brings joy, nostalgia, and comfort—without sacrificing taste or safety.
That mission led to the creation of The Friendly Flour—a space where I share tried-and-true gluten-free and allergy-friendly recipes, tips, and resources to make this lifestyle a little easier and a lot more delicious.
At one point, I also ran The Friendly Flour Bakery offering handmade, allergy-friendly baked goods to my local community in Southeast Kansas. While the bakery side of things has scaled back, the heart of The Friendly Flour remains strong right here on the blog—sharing recipes, ideas, and inspiration with others walking a similar path.
